Stepper motor for floppy Posted by Phazxero on 5 Jun 2001 at 5:39 PM
Does anyone know what the 4 connections for the small stepper motor at the back of the floppy stand for? I am trying to use the parallel port to directly control the motor without using the data pins. Thanks

Hi!
There are no standard stepper motor at fdd's so you should look for the manufacturers datasheet, or just play around a little with it until you figure it out.
I must advice you to use a buffer betwen your parellel port and the stepper motor, as a motor is a highly inductive load, which can easily cause damage.
