Hi everyone,

I am new to Programmers Heaven and I would like to know if anyone knows where I can get some free tutorials on embedded C. I have searched the net and can't find much at all. There are some books on embedded C but I want to sample some free stuff before I buy anything. I do have a background with microprocessors.

Thanks
hi!
I can understand your problem. Its very hard to get GOOD material on embedded systems programming in C. I suggest to select a tool or platform such as Vxworks, uCOS and others and start finding material on it.
check out this book you'll definately find it usefull:

MicroC/OS-II
The Real-Time Kernel
2nd Edition

Author: Jean J. Labrosse

feel free to ask any query,
bye.
I don't believe there are good references that encompass embedded programming because of the diversity of systems available. I am sold on PC-104 based solutions because of their similarities with standard DOS computers.
I is almost a years sence the original question was posted... anyway:

http://www.ece.utexas.edu/~valvano/embed/toc1.htm

That is very good reading. It is written for Motorola HC12, but the most of it is general rules that apply to every microcontroller.
