VxWorks PCI Card Posted by jam3s on 30 Mar 2012 at 9:11 AM
Hello All

I know nothing of VxWorks so please excuses my ignorance,

We have a couple of servers that run a proprietary application which is built on vxworks. these servers are standard x86 intel chassis with some kind of PCI card which the vendor is offering to sell.

THe vendor provides some installation instructions that invole booting the server and then running a tool which sends a broadcast packet with the configuration. I can see the firmware it loads are VDF files from another server in the network.

1. What type of PCI card would this be?

2. Is it possible to copy the content of the vxworks to another PCI card?

3. Is it possible to load the operating system with application into some kind of emulator?

Thanks
James
