from the tutorials!..that's always a good start....they will teach you the basics of what you would need to know!...then from there...play till your hearts content!

Theres loads of great resources for learning Flash.

They have some excellent video-tutorials on there. You have to download the FLV's manually and use a program like FLVPlayer to view them at the moment though.

I am about 1 year into learning flash and http://www.flashkit.com has been a great site! You can search tutorials or just flash movies people have posted.

If you want to learn Flash programming, and you want to do it for free, the best place to start would be learning to use the free code editor FlashDevelop.

If you also want to make Flash games, you should also take a look at the free game engine Flixel.

I put together a "getting started" guide on FlashDevelop and Flixel that you may find helpful, with links to the tutorials that I found most useful, and various free tools that may come in handy.
