Programming... where to start? Posted by cal5K on 2 Oct 2000 at 5:41 PM
Hello.

I am looking to delve deep into the world of programming/software design, and I'm wondering where the best place to start would be. C? C++? VC++?
And also, what compiler should I use? DJGPP? Borland C++? MS VC++?

And, what would my best source of learning be? An at-home course in VC++? Online tutorials?

Thank you. Your help is greatly appreciated.
I think you should start with DJGPP, firstly because it's free, and secondly, because it's great. I recommend also to download RHIDE (a development environment for djgpp...)
I personally started programming with QBASIC, at an age of 10... With a BASIC language it is easy to start...
