Barking up the wrong tree Posted by Coaster on 2 Jan 2007 at 12:46 AM
I am trying to create a training program for the body shop car industry.

As i have no skills in programming or computers, and im in Australia, im finding extremly difficult to get the right answers, so i thought i would post here for some advice.

The idea i have, is a program lets say looks similar to paint, with a image of a small dent (golf ball) on the car.

The user would use the toolbar to select the right tool, and the mouse to select what spot and the amount of pressure applied.

The image would then react simulating real steel, or alluminium.

Im guessing lighting, and the movement of the metal are the 2 biggest hurdels. But then again what do i know!

1. Is this possible?
2. What sort of program could do this?
3. What sort of person am i looking for? (Programmer, Game tech, Graphics, or something else)
4. How do i find a great Number 3?

Cheers in advance

This could be done, but it would take a bit of physics code, and you'd also need somebody who could code the rendering engine, unless the physics programmer knew how. I would post on a wanted board, you may find the person or people you need there.
