Only two companies to achieve growth in the IPC industry

According to the financial reports released by global industrial PC suppliers as of May 31, EVOC remains in the rank of the world's top three. In Q1 2009, most IPC companies showed a 20-30% negative growth. As one of the only two companies to achieve growth in the industry, EVOC grew by 11.48%, ranking No. 1 in growth rate.

Statistics in April and May indicated that compared with the same period of last year, most IPC companies experienced negative growth, and the whole industry is suffering from the combined effects of a general economic downturn. On the one hand, the direct impact of financial crisis on IPC industry is about increased difficulty in funding and getting loans, which has made some companies run out of cash. On the other hand, almost all the down-stream industries of IPC (including transportation, industrial automation, medical care, electric power, environmental protection, petrol chemical, banking, network security and video surveillance) are suffering from ripple effects of the crisis, and have reduced production and demands for industrial computing products.

Despite the impact of the global financial crisis upon the IPC industry, both Kontron and EVOC showed optimistic views on their current situation and future development. CEO of Kontron Ulrich Gehrmann said, “Particularly in times of crisis, cost-effective and high-performance innovative systems such as those developed by Kontron can be worthwhile investments for industry. This is because outsourcing offers benefits, can result in rapid savings in companies' unit costs, and cut working capital, thereby resulting in higher liquidity and equity ratios, which are very important factors in these times.”

The sales revenue of EVOC in the first quarter of 2009 was US$29,870,000, 11.48% up from last year’s US$26,790,000. The two-digit growth rate achieved during the crisis greatly inspires people in the industry. Ms. Amy Pan, Global Sales Director of EVOC Group said, “This achievement can be attributed to the interaction and integration of EVOC’s R&D effort and global marketing. Frequency Control Air Compressor Solution

System Introduction
Air compressor group is essential equipment required by many enterprises. Control the on-off action of air compressor (such as regular maintenance, emergency stop) according to the air conditions of working field. Control compressing speed through transducer to suit variable air conditions and save electricity. All of these request sequential operation of corresponding switches, valves and control transducers. When operating, check air compressor conditions frequently. In case of temperature, pressure or motor rated current exceeding limits, stop running immediately. If pressure is high, transducer lowers motor speed; stop running part of air compressor if necessary. The disadvantages of human monitoring: 24-hour monitoring makes staff exhausted and tired. It is unsafe and a waste of human resources. Therefore, IPC automatic intelligent monitoring solutions are widely applied.

A mine has a group of three V-6/7 electric fixed water-cooled air-compressors, requesting remote operation and automatic start-up and shut-down, automatic shut-down when parameters abnormal, frequency conversion power saving running. The voltage in the mine is unstable, and the start-up and shut-down of air compressor cause great interference to electric network, plus strong vibration, dusty, harsh environment and the requirements of 24-hour uninterrupted operating, the system demands exceptional safety and stability. Therefore, EVOC Industrial PC is introduced.

System Structure
Check Points:
1) Electric Signal Check Unit: Check main motor current 1 point, as well as main power supply three-phase voltage, 3 points in total.
2) Pressure Signal Check Unit: Check the pressure of 1-cylinder, 2-cylinder and air reservoir, 3 points in total.

EVOC Group appeared at Conference & Exhibition for Military Technologies & Systems with its latest rugged computers.

Although the impact of the financial crisis upon Israel economy is inevitable, the number of exhibitors increased over last year, which reflects that many companies are looking ahead into the future, and looking for opportunities in the crisis.

Because EVOC' s three distributors in Israel all participated in the exhibition, EVOC posters and products can be seen from every passageway in the hall. In particular, EVOC' s rugged computers with docking attracted an enormous attention from visitors.

EVOC products were much favored at MilTech, as we can see from the fact that three exhibitors in such an industry-specific exhibition showcased same products from a same company. This also signifies that EVOC products have been widely recognized by Israel customers. EVOC EIP Solution in the Detection of Tobacco Packaging

System Introduction
Tobacco is a big industry in the world. It pays significant amounts of tax to the government and offers a large number of job opportunities. Many large size tobacco enterprises are willing to use advanced automation equipment to improve the quality of their products. Complete checking items and advanced checking methods make it convenient to track and control the quality of products. Manufacturing cigarettes involves various stages: first baking, threshing and redrying, fermentation, blending, tobacco strips, tobacco rolled, and tobacco packaging. Then the cigarettes can be sent to market. Tobacco packaging plays an increasingly important role in encouraging tobacco consumption.

System Requirements
Check the package of cigarettes, including soft packaging check, hard packaging check and box check. Box check contains the check of brand print, internal package, external package and so on. Unqualified items are removed.

System Principle
Use two groups of video sensors to capture image from the five sides of tobacco package: front, back, left, right and top. Input the captured image to computer to compare and remove the unqualified items. The speed of production line is very fast, for example, the packaging speed of soft package is 360 cases per minute. Therefore, it requires high speed camera. Moreover, the main computer not only can manage applications in industrial field, but also should be capable of processing graphics at a high speed. The system adopts EVOC IPC-810A computer, plus video capture card, PCL-725 I/O control card, 725 card outputs control signal to remove unqualified items. EVOC's FSC-1812V2NA motherboard, featuring 256M dynamic share video memory onboard, is capable of dealing with high speed image processing.

Good video card on Laptop or not?

I'm going to buy a laptop this june or july for school purposes but I don't know if I need a good video card on it. I'm more on 3D programming in C++ and using OpenGL. I'm going to use its shaders also and might go with physics simulation also. Do I need a good video card like 9600m gt or a 9100m or hd3200 is fine then upgrade my desktop.

I'm going to buy a laptop because most of the time I'm in school, though.

Hi-tech Enterprises Shine at Canton Fair

The 23-day 105th China Import and Export Fair (the Canton Fair) opened on April 15th at Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou. It offers a perfect platform for business negotiation and cooperation between Chinese exporters and foreign purchasers.

The crisis has taken its toll on the Chinese export. As the foreign demand fell, the export turnover, one of the three engines driving the Chinese economy, also dropped, greatly affecting the overall economic growth. The opening of the fair at this juncture is of considerable significance, offering a perfect platform for business negotiation and cooperation between Chinese exporters and foreign purchasers.

Like the previous session, the 105th session is also split into three phases. 22104 enterprises both from home and abroad are presenting themselves in 55885 standard booths covering an exhibition space of 1.125 million square meters. A total of 21709 domestic enterprises are exhibiting in 55272 export booths covering a total exhibition space of 1.11 million square meters. Although the total exhibition space remains the same, the average space for each exhibitor has become larger.

Like in the last session, in this session of the Canton Fair, the exhibitors are grouped both by their nationalities and by their exhibited products. The difference is the space allocation. In the previous sessions, consumer products occupied major part of the exhibition space; while in this session, industrial products are taking precedence over consumer products, which attests to the importance the government attaches to industrial and hi-tech enterprises. This shift of focus is also in line with the policy of boosting domestic demand put forward by the central government last year, as well as the Ten-industry Revival Plan announced early this year, in which government’s support to transformation ＆ upgrading of industrial enterprises is a major highlight. Industrial automation, which is indispensable for both infrastructure construction and projects for people's well-being, plays a key role in driving economic growth.

The shift could also explain why so many hi-tech enterprises have shown up in this session of the Canton Fair. Among them is EVOC Group, an IPC manufacturer based in Shenzhen, who has taken four booths at the fair. Not much affected by the economic crisis like many other exporters, EVOC puts more emphasis on export this year following its initial success in the overseas market. For Chinese hi-tech enterprises like EVOC, the Canton Fair is a convenient platform to tap into global market.

In order to provide more business opportunities and better support to enterprises in their efforts to expand export, this session of the Canton Fair has cut exhibition fees substantially to alleviate the financial burden on exhibitors. Well this guy named Jay Chakroborty called me telling about the school and how i should take his 3,700 dollar class in las vegas in june 1 to june 8. Its class each day is from 8am to 6pm class/seminars about A+ and N+ so on june 9 i take the test here in miami and then get the certificates. Now am wondering if its worth it?

Since November, 1999 the Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers for Technology (PT3) federal grant has enabled aculty to explore how various technologies can support powerful teaching and learning in the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP). The grant’s long-term goal is for STEP’s teacher candidates and cooperating teachers to model technology in their classrooms and encourage secondary students’ learning through technology .Through the grant, STEP has developed exciting new partnerships with econdary schools in the Bay Area.
The “Probeware Collaboratory,” one of the grant’s projects, includes a learning community of Bay Area science teachers, STEP teacher candidates, and STEP instructors. Beginning in summer 2001, Social Science Research Associate and STEP Instructor Susan Schultz (PhD ’99) and a cohort of STEP science teacher candidates began collaborating with professional scientists at Stanford’s Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve to study the effects of global warming.

As this is a dated card, it is a little difficult to find at a decent price. Second hand boards will do as well.

1. System Introduction
Every industry has been attaching more and more importance to information security. Firewall products have been widely applied in many fields, such as banking, insurance, stock, mail, military, custom, taxation and government. Therefore, firewall products become the focus of competition of security products in domestic market. Gigabit firewall as the foundation equipment of network security system, embedded in the primary communication trunk of controlled network, monitors any communication via the controlled primary trunk. The features of firewall include: access control, Domain name translation, transparent access, user authentication, content filtering, VPN, high availability, traffic management, billing, intrusion monitoring, through agents, and management methods of multi command lines, Web interface and Windows GUI Manager.

2. System Requirements
With the continuous development of firewall, firewall is gradually evolving into a system. And more demands are required, primarily focusing on high performance, high stability and reliability and high adaptability.
1) High Performance
High performance is usually determined by two parts: hardware and software
The key factors for soft-firewall are excellent software design and higher requirements of system platform. The improvement of software performance presents in the structure and implementation of operation system and application system.
Hard-firewall focuses both on hardware and software. Hardware platform mostly adopts industrial PC (IPC) system (reducing hardware development costs). Hence, hardware performance relies on the improvement of CPU and memory capabilities. But when attempting to improve system performance through software, there are fewer methods; almost all of software systems are based on Linux.
2) High Stability and Reliability
The firewall reliability reflects in hardware and software two parts.
IPC performs good capability in this field with Intel X86 structure. The network interface chip is integrated in mainboard, improving the reliability of product. The electronic type storage (non-mechanical magnetoelectric) also improves the performance and adaptability of anti-temperature and anti-humidity, suitable for long term running.
Certainly, the improvement of software reliability is critical for firewall product, along with the increase of security demand and network application, the firewall has been constantly expanded and revised, this bring challenges in reliability. Generally, a small revise is necessary to conduct a complete firewall and application testing.

How to generate functional testing for 8 bit adder?

I have been told that exacly 8 test-vectors are needed to give 8-bit adder 100% fault coverage. Can someone tell me how to generate functional test vectors so i can get the 8 vectors i need?
