javascript forms problem Posted by WD on 13 May 2000 at 1:37 PM
I am sending data entered into a form on a website to an email address. The problem is that the data is being sent in a *.att file extension format and I am unable to read it. How can I change the data format being sent to an email address into a *.txt or *.doc file extension? Thanks

You will have to use some sort of CGI program to fix the URL encoding and mail the email. First, check with your server's administrator to see if you have CGI access (if you don't, this won't work). While you're at it, ask him the directory of the sendmail program on your server.<br>

Now you have to make or find a script. http://www.worldwidemart.com/scripts/ has a good form-to-mail script. You can also check http://cgi.resourceindex.com/ for some others.<br>

Hope this helps,<br>
