I've been reading up about XML lately and one of the uses that are mentioned on almost every site is:
"to gather user input"
in context of web applications i find this hard to understand (why not use forms instead??)

I have to develop a demo application to showcase the power of XML .. I have decided to develop an online bookstore...
can anyone suggest where all XML can be used in this ...
or suggest any other application ..
this is very urgent and needs to be done really quick ... so if anyone can suggest any downloadable applications ... i would be grateful ...
