We have gotten to a point now where we could use an extra hand or two on the programming side of things.

We are looking for one or two people that are familiar with object oriented programming, OGRE 3D, and ideally knows C++ to join the team and help spread out the work load.

We are a bunch of modders and roster makers who are attempting to make our own PC baseball game, we are building our own physics engine which is coming along rather well, and we are looking for someone to help transition everything from 2D to 3D.

We are all working on this in our own time and would expect whoever joins to do the same but we do offer some potential upside! Java programmer/partner needed for new startup

I'm looking for an experienced Java programmer to partner with in a new startup company. If you're a Java programmer with GPS experience (global positioning system), that would even be better!

The primary function of the Java application is to replay GPS tracks (i.e. GPX, NMEA, etc.) from multiple sources. Similar to a playing a compiled video stream. The first release of the application will allow users to play GPS files stored in a database. The 2nd release, will enable the GPS player to display GPS data in real-time (still storing data to database).

Of course this is a high level conceptual description, but I can offer examples if you're interested in learning more.

I am not much of a programmer (self-taught some Access and have taken a c++ class but have no experience), so I need to get some help rewriting an Access 2003 database I wrote into c++ with a gui. I use the Access 2003 db for my checkbook, and it does some things that I really enjoy, but it doesn't work on Access 2007. Therefore I was thinking of getting it written in c++ since I am slightly familiar with c++ and could do most (hopefully) of my own maintenance and improvements. I'm also assuming (big assumption here) that as a c++ program I could also install it on my mother's computer so she could use her own copy of it.

How much would it cost me for someone to work with me for a little bit to get me started on writing it by pointing me in the right direction and then advise me from time to time when I got hung up? I am somewhat familiar with doing some pseudo-code so I can provide that. The main reason I don't just jump in and take a stab at this myself is that I don't know about c++ interaction with db's or c++ gui.

Searching for a top-notch programmer for an exciting new Internet startup.

The project is a really cool idea. It is similar to Google in many ways, but it’s not a search engine. Basically, it’s an online ad publishing software, that let’s companies target their ads more precisely than currently possible anywhere else. This allows companies to advertise more effectively and with a better return on their investment. Especially in times like these, this is extremely important. The software also has an extremely very strong incentive for people to use it – therefore it also has viral growth potential (yes, I realize a lot of people claim that these days).

Currently there is nothing similar available.

Operating expenses are directly related to revenue, so the operating business is profitable by default (another bold claim, I know – it’s true though).

The development work includes: databases, a website, and the software (a toolbar / browser extension) – essentially all the technological work involved with the launch of this startup. I’ll take care of all the business stuff (marketing, sales, strategy etc).

It’s a challenging, creative, free environment. The work can be done anywhere (ideally in the US), and can start immediately.
