I have a question regarding conversion of a SQL database to a MY SQL database. is it possible and if yes, how exactly?

When you say SQL, do you mean MS SQL? You should be able to transfer the data no problem. However, MySQL doesn't support some of the things MS SQL does, e.g. stored procedures and triggers.
