Please answer my question (?) Posted by DarQ on 17 Oct 2002 at 9:41 AM
Hee,

I would love to know to which kind of music you coders listen. Is it metal or standard pop shit? Or maybe some blues/jazz or perhaps rap/r&b?

what is it and also give your most loved piece of sound!!!

For me it's simple: gimme metal!!! Some black metal!!! Prefer Dimmu Borgir's album called Spiritual Black Dimensions... :)

: I would love to know to which kind of music you coders listen.

I listen to good music.

: Is it metal or standard pop shit? Or maybe some blues/jazz or perhaps rap/r&b?

Metal - some is ok. No one particular group though. Metallica has some good songs, Godsmack has a couple. Just depends on the song.

Jazz - depends on my mood. Definitely like Big Band Swing.

Rap - really sucks

R&B - sucks

Pop - mostly sucks

Classical - two thumbs up!

Rock - again, depends on the song. I like rock from most eras and genres.

New age - Definitely like Enya. haven't heard much else.

: what is it and also give your most loved piece of sound!!!

Hrm... it's hard to pick a single all-time favorite. Might be 'Toccata and Fugue in D Minor' by J.S.Bach, or it could be 'First Suite for Military Band in E Flat' by Gustav Holst. Could also be 'Night on Bare Mountain' by Modest Mussorgsky

: For me it's simple: gimme metal!!! Some black metal!!! Prefer Dimmu Borgir's album called Spiritual Black Dimensions... :)

Ugh, after a while it's all just noise.

Have you heard of Apocalyptica? A cello quartet from Finland that plays Metallica songs. Very cool. I love "crossover" music like that. There's a German guy named Wolf Hoffman that plays classical songs in a metal style. Also very cool.

Ive seen apocaliptica live in my hometown metal festival and i dont like it. Headbanging on cello's! I do like classic most of the time! Especially in combination with metal!

For me, I mix it around. depending on mood.

I go from brit pop > beastie boys > sepultura > TMCM.. all sorts.. just keep changing it as and when needed.

Whats I cant bear is country and western, ganster rap, jungle, euro dance music ( thats really cheesey crap )

So maybe my best is industrial metal.

Smashing Pumpkins, especially Siamese Dream and Melon Collie.
Also Jimi Hendrix and Jethro Tull.
Some of my kids Pop stuff is not too obnoxious, but I would never put it on myself.

Unfortunatly you do not only sound offending, you are. :(

Why not rephrase it and say :"I think metal is noise" instead?

No i think maybe the train would take 3 hours maybe a bit more.. thats too far.. to go on a boring train without smoking.

Also I dont think gf would be impressed with the idea. If I get a pass one day next week I will email you!!

And I can drive 3 hours.. but I dont like it.. because the roads over here twist and turn. American roads are straight, which makes things easier. There is no skill to driving in America.. just look at that Jason Priestly.. he cant drive round an oval track without crashing. hahaha

Will it take you 20 min on train to get DarQ place? If yes, it's far enough . HAHAHA!!!. DArQ do not be upset, I know your country is not that small but for people from US or Russia like me most distances in the European countries are to short. I can drive 2 hours to get Washington DC or 3 hours to get NY City and back, if I have tickets for concert, not metal, or play. I do not think so that some European will do the same.
