: I mean, my whole
office moved. To a different address! Along with all my stuff, and I even have a new secretary! And I was only gone 5 days!
I was beginning to wonder where you had wandered off to.
: (Hehehe, of course, it's not as if I didn't know that was going to happen. I engineered the whole thing, and then let other people execute it while I was gone. But I've still been telling all my friends... I leave for five days, and my whole office moves!)
We rearranged an office once. Management hired some office furniture/moving specialists. We got to leave at noon on a Friday and when we came in on Monday, the whole building had been redone. The programmers got moved from the seventh floor to the second floor. It wasn't as nice down on 2, but we were next to the cafeteria and our cubicles got 50% bigger.
: Anyway... I'm now patching up the office-migration disasters (for example, where are my source code CDs? Where are my component CDs? Where are my
dirty CDs?), and also new-secretary issues (the girl is very good and efficient, but cannot make a cup of coffee to save her life). But... I did want to pop in and let everyone know I hadn't, like, died or anything. (Although one more cup of coffee like this one, and I just might.)
LOL, dirty CDs? A perk of working in Mexico, right? Do they even have sexual harrassment lawsuits there?
: So how's everbunny been while I've been gone? Hope all's well and hope to hear from you all soon.
All good here. I'm thinking of writing a Python version of Apache's FOP program to convert XSL-FO into PDF. I've got the FOP source and I've got Python so now it's a matter of picking the parts I want to implement and tranlating it to Python. So far I have a main class that just parses command line options and makes sure all the necessary options are specified. Gotta start somewhere.
