: : : : What do you think is coding addictive?
: : :
: : : it feels like it. from infidel's page; he needs the logic from coding so he doesnt drive everyone around him insane.
: :
: : I was only half serious when I wrote that.
: :
: : Honestly, though, I love solving problems. I love logic and order and science and puzzles and technical stuff. However, I'm the only "geek" in my family. Few people around me care about things like programming or computers or games or logic puzzles or <fill in the geeky blank>.
: :
: : So, I don't bother them with any of it because I know it would bore them to tears. Coding lets my brain do what it likes to do so I can pay more attention to what others like when I'm around them. Of course, sometimes I'll be driving home on Friday for the weekend and a solution to some problem will suddenly come to me and I spend the whole weekend processing it in the back of my mind while trying to not act like I'm off in some other place. Women don't really appreciate being ignored because you're thinking about algorithms or whatever.

: I like coding but I would't say that I'm addictive to coding. Actually, I'm addictive to solving any problem. If I have some problem, even though it's not that important, I must solve/fix it. Otherwise, it'll drive me nuts. Right now, I am having problem with sorting data using SQL Server. For some(I am sure very stupid) reason, some portion of data is sorted in correct order and other not. That drives me nuts.
