I work in a lab at a University and much of our machinery requires either archaic or used software/computers. We have a predicament where the only way for one of our machines to work is to find a password for a program already installed on a computer that came with the machine. The owner prior to us didn't know the password and the company won’t help us. The company only wants to sell us another copy of the program which is fairly expensive and we have little funding.
As I've already mentioned, the OS is Windows 2000. The program is called APSS-View-CFR-21. It stores its login information in a file called "LOGIN.SAV". However, the file opens and is viewable in WordPad but not comprehensible.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
