Can anyone help me with programming in Pascal? I am a new student to this and would appreciate any help I could get. I would also like to know where I could get a compiler from, if anyone had one for free or rather cheap.
Thanks Tom
: Thanks Tom
:

Compiler:
Personally I use BP7. Don't know what is current price
or where to get it. You could try to contact Borland
(www.borland.com or www.inprise.com).

However, there is number of free Pascal compilers.
For example check the Tools/Copilers on

http://www.devq.net/pascal/

There are plenty of tutorials on Pascal programming.
They should help you start. If you have particular
question, post it here and someone will answer.
If you are stuck with the program, post your code
and someone will help.

Hmm looks like I ignored this thread for too long...I didnt realize it had gotten so far as to discuss the distribution of copyrighted programs.

iby was kind enough to post a link to where to get a legitimate copy of Turbo Pascal, and also to where some free Pascal compilers can be found.

I would ask you check out his links, and leave the illegal activities somewhere else. Thanks.
Forget copyright. Goto http://www.vpascal.com/ for the very best pascal compiler there is - including commercial ones.

It is totally Turbo Pascal compatible with valuable extensions. It supports Window$ DLL's and is 32 bit compatible as well as backward compatible to DOS. Complete with extensive docs, libraries, and examples. Get it while you can.

As far as learning Pascal, which IS the best way to learn programming as that's what Pascal was designed for, go to the bookstore and find a tutorial book on Pascal Programming. Start out on page 1 and work your way through each page. Pascal is easy enough to learn you'll soon have the hang of it.
