how do I make pascal read prices of particular menu items from a file - just an idea which makes it easy to update prices without enetering the pas file. So far I have managed to make it read menu items only (I suppose that is easy as it's only string)

any help appreciated.

Do the same with files, readln(_text_,_string_), then use the val procedure to convert the string to real.
