Go to the grocery store and buy a meat thermometer...
Open the computer case...
Ask the CPU to say "ah"...

The way it's done with Athlons and Pentiums is by measuring the forward voltage of a PN junction on the chip, one that is specially provided for that purpose. The Vf-T curve of silicon diodes is constant and reasonably flat over the range of interest.
