Basic Hello World on Win 7 Posted by keltik on 8 Mar 2011 at 5:06 AM
Hello,
Ive just recently started reading a book about Assembler. But unfortunately im facing dificulties due to my Windows Home Premium 64-bit version right now.

In the cmd-dos-prompt-window i compiled (MASM) and linked (link16) my files, got and .exe file out of it wihtout errors whatsoever. A simple Hello world program.

But starting the .exe does not work because 64-bit versions are not supported.

Does anyone know about a work-around here that makes the simple .exe working under 64bit win 7 ?

I know it is possible (just maybe actually) to upgrade to win 7 Professional and load Virtual Desktop XP, but i dont want an upgrade!

Are there other emulation options ?

Need help from experienced people...

See you!

Maybe a professional version is a good choice.
