PDA-WLAN-Survey Application Posted by sriray on 3 Jul 2005 at 5:45 AM
Hi all,
I am writing a PDA survey application which would work offline and updates the database with the results when the user comes into a WiFi network. I am new to handheld programming and so am not able to decide on an architecture for my project.

My initial thought was to store the survey results as XML files on the PDA and when in the WiFi region, use web services to update the database(which one to use???) on the server. What do you think about this?

It would be nice if you could help me in this regard.

Thanks & Regards,
Sriray

: hello
all u will need is to decide between how to sync your data from your pda to backend database. Most present day pocket pcs (Windows Mobile based) can take care of Wifi themselves. Search for more information on RDA and Merge with respect to Pocket PC or Windows CE. You can also go in for pocket access if you desire to use MS access as backend.
remember i am also a green horn trying to help u out.
Rajesh
