im trying to build a telnet program and ive got the server side connection down. My problem is that telnet sends every character you type and my comand interpreter doesnt like that. Is there a way that it can hold the characters until \n and then use that?

Certainly. Can you post your code so we can see what you're doing? Did you know there's a telnetlib module in the standard library?
