looking for a website or books that can help me better understand how to create a basic windows program. any help would be great thanks.

hello boss
if you intend to learn through VC++ as novice it's a hard job.
try " windows 2000 programming " by "Herbert Schildt"
This is good for beginners,and that is the book from which I also learned. best of luck
