I'm working on some XHTML code that allows viewers to add content to a page. It uses a server-side script to open an XHTML document, edit it and save it.
My concern is: what if you have two or more processors on the server? Would it not be possible for the document to be opened and parsed twice simulatenously, then saved back over itself?
I'm not an expert on server architecture, obviously! However, I do know that database software contains safeguards to prevent simulataneous editing of data. Is there an XML equivalent?
