Partition Recovery to Sort Out Master File Table Corruption Issue

NTFS (New Technology File System) file system is made up of a number of different metadata files, and MFT (Master File Table) is the most significant among them. It is a place where critical information about each file and folder on NTFS file system volume is stored. MFT contains a number of attributes about various files. It works as central management and “Starting Point” feature of NTFS file system volume. However, in case of corruption to the MFT, you cannot access your NTFS file system partitions and stored data. In such situations, you are required to opt for StellarData Recovery to work around the issue.

The MFT file corruption may be indicated by a number of symptoms, such as you may encounter any of the below error message:

“MFT and MFT mirror matches perfectly” “$mft corrupted file. Please run chkdsk utility” “<drive>:\<folder> is not accessible The file or directory is corrupt and non-readable. The file or directory is corrupt and non-readable. The file or directory \<folder> is corrupt and unreadable. Please Run the Chkdsk utility.”

“drive: folder is not accessible The file or directory is corrupt and non-readable. The file or directory is corrupt and non-readable. The file or directory folder is corrupt and unreadable. Please Run the Chkdsk utility.”

The first record of the MFT exemplifies Master File Table itself, followed by the MFT mirror record. If first MFT file gets damaged after improper system shutdown, virus infection, operating system malfunction, file system corruption, and other such situations, NTFS reads second record to find out MFT mirror. The starting record of MFT mirror is indistinguishable to MFT's first record.

Memory location of the data segments for MFT and its mirror are recorded in Windows boot sector. The duplicate copy of Windows boot sector is stored at logical center of disk. MFT allocates particular amount of disk space for each file record. The file attributes are written to allocated memory space in the MFT.

In case of corruption to the Master File Table, file system and operating system cannot read the entries of files and directories and thus cannot locate them. In such cases, if MFT mirror also gets damaged, Partition Recovery Software is the only option to get your lost partitions and data recovered.

You can easily Recover Partition in a quick and easy with these applications. The Partition Recovery Software carry out in-depth scan of entire Windows hard drive through advanced scanning techniques and ensure absolute recovery of all lost partitions and data.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is the best ever and the most effective application made that provides assured recovery of all lost partitions. It recovers FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS, and NTFS5 file system partitions. The software works well with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, 2003, XP, and 2000.
