Like any other Windows NT operating system, Windows 7 also uses NTFS (New Technology File System) to store and maintain all the files on the hard drive. This file system, although reliable and safe, can be corrupted due to various factors like improper system shutdown, virus attack, operating system malfunction, and human mistakes. In most cases of file system damage, an error message pops up during the booting process, making hard drive data inaccessible.
