How to Fix Partition Table Corruption due to Hurri Virus?

Hurri is a MBR/Boot Sector infecting, memory residing virus that is known to cause several problems on Windows computers. Like any other virus, Hurri virus can corrupt important data structures and interrupt with the working of your computer. Because the virus is contained on a boot disc, it starts spreading the infection when you try to boot your computer using the contaminated disc. Primarily, it infects your operating system and loads itself each time you boot the computer. In worst cases, you sometimes need to erase all disk partitions to fully remove the virus and its infection from your system. But if the data is important, it creates a need to Recover Partition data from the last available backup.

Hurri virus can be detected but cannot be cleaned by an anti-virus program. However, if no anti-virus is installed or an outdated anti-virus program runs on your computer, the infection might remain undetected for long. For further clarification, consider an instance when you find your partition table and disk MBR corrupted due to Hurri virus. Additionally, you might observe that computer hangs repeatedly on trying to access it. Following is an error message that specifically occurs because of boot sector virus infection and indicates that the infection has already occurred:

“Non-system disk or disk error”

Methods to Remove Hurri Virus

To completely remove the Hurri virus from your computer, you need to prevent it from loading itself in system's memory, remove its file, and then run a scan by a powerful anti-virus program.

In case of MBR infection, you need to fix it using Windows Recovery Console or Windows Recovery Environment, whichever applies. To do so, you should boot your computer from Windows install CD/DVD and then run commands like, fixmbr and fixboot.

If none of the above solutions works for you or the Hurri virus has infected your computer severely, you need to recreate all the hard disk partitions and restore data from last available backup. In case of any backup related concerns, a Partition Recovery Software can help. These utilities can Recover Partition using safe scanning algorithms.
