Tired of receiving strange iPod errors due to failed sync processes? Solution is here!

Ben Colgate was upset. He had a bad experience with his newly-bought Mac iPod which subjected him to great inconvenience. While he tried uploading new content onto his iPod, he got restricted by the appearance of an error message. Due to the error message, the sync process terminated automatically. And, poor Ben was left helpless. Have you started imagining yourself in Ben's shoes? Well, the above situation can occur with most of the iPod users. An iPod can throw weird error messages during sync and other processes related to it. While most of the problems can be easily addressed by trying 5Rs, as suggested by Apple, the restoration process leads to data erasure. In such situations, where restoration is an urgent requirement, you must consider using a Mac iPod recovery software to compensate data loss in an effective manner.

This article would make you familiar with one of the various error messages which you can encounter with your Mac iPod. To elaborate this, let's consider a practical situation, wherein, you have an iPod Shuffle. You try to sync it with iTunes for Mac, and get the following error message which halts the process in between:

"Attempting to copy to the disk failed. An unknown error occurred (-69)."

Cause

Since the sync process started without any issues and ceased in between, it shows that your iPod Shuffle refused to accept some corrupt or unusable files from iTunes. To get rid off the error message, you should eliminate the problematic files and then try syncing again.

Resolution

Follow the below-mentioned steps carefully which guide you on how to find bad files and perform Mac iPod recovery:

• Get the latest version of iTunes • In the iTunes source pane, control-click on iPod. Select Sync Songs from the shortcut menu • Carefully inspect the display while your iPod is getting updated. You can identify the bad file as its name would appear right before the occurrence of the error message. • After identifying the problematic files, you must remove them from the list of the songs to be synced • Go to Summary tab • Choose the 'Sync only checked songs and videos' • Under Library (in the sidebar), find the bad file in the list. If it's a song, select Music, and if it is a video, then select Movies in the source pane • Now deselect the box next to the file name • Update your iPod by repeating steps 1 and 2. If you have more than one bad files, you must eliminate them by following the above-mentioned procedure. • If you are unable to figure out and isolate bad files, then try resetting the iPod • If that doesn't work, you must restore your iPod and recover data by employing a third-party Mac iPod recovery application.

Data from iPod Shuffle and Classic can be easily recovered by using a robust software like Stellar Phoenix iPod Recovery. The utility has been developed to recover lost or deleted songs, videos, audio books, podcasts, text documents and other iPod content. You can use this Mac iPod recovery software to restore your playlist in the original order. Moreover, being easy-to-use, the software doesn't require you to acquire any technical knowledge.
