Effective Advice Help to Recover Data From Memory Stick

Dilemma

On the memory stick, there was a word document that was deleted somehow. It was in a folder with one other file. The total size of the folder is 63kb, but the file still in there only takes up around 30kb of memory. The file that was deleted is not hidden and cannot be seen. However, if it is deleted why is it still taking up space. Is there any way to recover data from memory stick?

Professional Response

When you delete a file, Windows only marks the file as deleted, but doesn't actually remove it from your system. Those files are only truly deleted (well, replaced actually) when other data is saved to the same location on your hard drive. So as long as you haven't saved any new files to that memory stick, then your word doc is still sitting there waiting to be recovered.

Two Solutions for recovering deleted files from memory stick. These solutions work on flash drive recovery the same way.

Solution One: Adopt Recuva to Recover Lost Data

Step 1: Download the free data recovery program Recuva (piriform.com/recuva). Download the portable not install version so that you can run it without having to install it. An even better way to ensure that your data won't be overwritten is to download the portable version for flash drives and run it from a USB flash drive.

Step 2: Start the file recovery wizard and select the file type for which you are looking. Selecting all file types can take a very long time to complete, so it's best to narrow down your search. On the next page, select the locations you want to search and then click "Start" on the following page. If you happen to know the file name, that's even better. Just cancel out of wizard mode, type all or part of the file name in the search box, select the areas to be searched and then click "Scan."

Step 3: Allow the file recovery program several minutes to a few hours to complete. If you see the file(s) you were looking for, you can cancel the search before it's done. Otherwise, let it finish.

Step 4: Click to select the check box next to each file found that you want to recover. Insert a USB flash drive into your computer to recover your files to, or recover them to a second hard drive if one is available. You're more likely to recover your deleted files intact if you recover them on a different drive than the one from which they were deleted. Click "Recover" and select the flash drive or second hard drive as the file recovery location.

Recuva will find any kind of file at all, and has special modes for music, documents, videos, and emails, besides the standard photo recovery. The main drawback with Recuva is with disks that are completely corrupted. If Windows does not recognize the disk, Recuva cannot scan it. Then you should turn to solution Two.

Soution Two: Choose Tenorhsare Data Recovery to Get Card Data Back

Tenorshare Data Recovery, an effective all-in-one media files recovery tool which supports someone to settle your lost pictures easily out of your computer. You can actually retrieve pictures mac on your own with Tenorshare data recovery, a fairly easy-to-use and do-it-yourself recovery program to do pictures retrieval . Only 3 steps had to recover data.

Move 1: Start the Data recovery software, and select a module using the reason of data loss. "Deleted Recovery" is designed for photo deletion recovery, "Format Recovery" is for recovering data from formatted camera.

Move 2: Find the file types you intend to recover. Click 'Start Sacn' to find all lost file types.

Move 3: Choose the data you want to recover, Click" Recover" All these 2 solutions are most useful resources to recover lost data, so in the future, if you want to find deleted data again, you won’t panic.

These 2 methods are also suitable for all other card data recovery such as recover videos from camcorder. Compared with Solution One and Two, You can adopt Solution two to as the first choice. It is very convenient, right?
