When your Windows operating system-based computer boots up, two dynamically sized pools are created by Memory Manager. These memory pools are used by kernel-mode components for allocating system memory. The pools are called NonPaged Pool and Paged Pool. Both these pools begin at initial size, which is based on the amount of the physical memory available in your system. If you set the size of these pools to improper values, you may not open, access, or copy large files. Repeated attempts to open the file may cause file corruption and file loss.
