Data Loss after System Hive Values are damaged

An error message at the startup of your computer system primarily occurs due to file system corruption, system registry hive damage, virus infections, and more. This error message halts the booting process of your computer system and makes the data stored in the hard drive inaccessible. An ideal backup acts as a boon to restore all the required data. However, in case of no backup availability or backup failing short of restoring the required information, you will need to use advanced Data Recovery Software.

  As a practical example, you encounter the below error message when you attempt to start you Windows based computer system:

  “TRAP 0000000E ============ PAGE FAULT =============
  • * at linear address 00000002
tr=0028 cr0=80000011 cr2=00000002 cr3=00300000”

  After the above error message appears, the data stored in the hard drive becomes inaccessible. In addition, you encounter the same error message, each time you attempt to start your computer system.

  Cause:

  Two main causes for the occurrence of the above error message are discussed below:

  Damaged or corrupted system registry hive.

Invalid characters or incorrect settings in Boot.ini file.

  Resolution:

  To resolve the above error message and access the data, you will need to take below measures:

  You will need to replace the System hive in the Config folder with the SYSTEM._ hive from the Repair folder. In case, if you are using FAT file system, start your system by using Windows 98 Startup disk. But in case of NTFS file systems, start your system using a Windows 2000 CD-ROM.

  You will need to create a parallel installation of Windows. After creating the installation, you will need to restore the System hive from a tape backup to the original %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\Config folder.

  But, if the above resolutions fail to resolve your issues, then you will need to use advanced Data Recovery Software. Such NTFS Data Recovery applications are easily understandable as they are built with highly graphical and interactive user interface. These Data Recovery Tools employ high end scanning algorithms to recover data from storage media.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is a powerful Data Recovery tool that recovers lost files and folders from corrupted, deleted, formatted or lost hard drive partitions and volumes. The recovery tool is compatible with 185 different file types that can be further extended. It supports FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems. The tool is designed for Windows 7 (Currently in RC1), Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000.
