Resolving “Corrupt Registry” Error Message in Windows 7

Windows Registry is a hierarchical and complex database of entries that saves information related to all the applications (running on the system), low-level components, and third-party applications. Corruption in Windows registry is one major reason for loss of data from your hard drive. Few major causes of registry corruption are operating system crash, virus attacks, and improper system shutdown. In most cases of registry corruption, the Windows operating system becomes unbootable and displays an error message. To overcome this error message, an updated backup acts as a boon to a Windows user. However, the problem continues if the user has not created any valid backup. In such cases, the data saved in the hard drive can only be accessed using third-party Data Recovery Software.

Consider a practical case, where you receive the below error message when you start your computer:

“Problem Event Name: StartupRepairOffline Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385 Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385 Problem Signature 03: unknown Problem Signature 04: 21201049 Problem Signature 05: AutoFailover Problem Signature 06: 7 Problem Signature 07: CorruptRegistry OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033”

The same error message appears every time during the boot process, resulting in inaccessibility of data stored in the hard drive.

Cause:

As explained in the error message, Windows registry is corrupt.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error message, you need to:

Enter the safe mode (press F8 key) and try to startup with 'Last Good Known Configuration' option.

If that does not helps, then perform 'System Restore' in startup repair console.

If the error message still persists, re-install Windows 7 operating system. Re-installing the operating system will resolve the above error message for sure. While the error message gets resolved, you encounter a new problem, i.e., deletion of data from your hard drive. To overcome this issue, you need to opt for an effective third-party Data Recovery utility.

Such Data Recovery Software recoup data from a formatted, deleted, or corrupted hard drive partition. The software allow you to save the recovered data on your desired storage media.

Windows Data Recovery is an answer to all your data loss questions. The Data Recovery Tools instantly recoups all kinds of files and folders from a formatted FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file system based hard drive. The do-it-yourself recovery tool supports Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, and 2000.

Windows 7 corrupt registry error message FIXED my way :)
Hi, I recently got this corrupt registry problem last night and have spent over 6 hours searching on how to fix it since I returned home from school today.

I had the exact same problem as described above... the start up repair loop at boot, system repair unable to fix the problem, can't access safe mode, last known configuration no go, system restore no go, repair install no go,etc... This is how I was able to fix my cpu w/o doing a clean install.

I went to command prompt on the windows 7 cd repair menu. I wanted to run a check disk scan and have it locate the bad sectors.

I then found this webpage with how to run a chkdsk scan in the command prompt.. http://www.w7forums.com/use-chkdsk-check-disk-t448.html

x is the letter of the drive.

I then entered this into the command prompt and my corrupt registry nightmare was over from here on :)

" CHKDSK x: F/ R/ "... instead of "x" i put "c" because that is the letter my drive uses.

It scanned and had 5 stages to go through. When it finally finished I waited an extra 5 mins to make sure it did not have nothing else to do. After that I clicked the x to close the command prompt window and clicked restart at the start up repair menu.

It rebooted and I held my arm across my face nervous of the result of the scan. I bring my arm down from covering my face after 2 minutes and VIOLA! My login is showing!

I quickly jumped up with joy shouting YES ahahaha :D and so that is how I fixed my cpu with this problem.

My computer has a AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+ 1.80 GHz. It runs Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. Has a total of 4 gbs of ram and uses a 120 gb western digital hdd.

I'm not sure if it depends on how badly corrupted your windows 7 registry is, but I really hope this works for others out there with this same problem.

I also do not know if my computer is now fixed from this corrupt registry. All im am doing right now is keeping it on so that I can get everything off of it and transfer it to my knew computer I just recently brought last week.

Good luck to all.

repair corrupt registry
Amazing article with a lot of useful information, actually, recently I've found another way to speed up my poor PC, the software "tuneup360". It’s very easy to handle and of course very powerful, my friends and I all use it now, maybe you can have a try.
