Recovering corrupt NTFS-based Windows Vista system

In Windows Vista and later versions of Windows operating systems, the Transactional NTFS component has been introduced. This component enables the transactions to be atomic in nature wherein each transaction is recorded as either successfully completed or failed completely. Because of this feature, you are able to tackle the errors in a better manner and also preserve data integrity. However, at times the NTFS file system can get corrupt because of various reasons such as virus infections, power outages, human errors, abrupt system shutdown, etc. In such cases, you should take appropriate steps to rectify the problem. However, if you are unable to do so then you should use a third-party NTFS data recovery software to recover the trapped data.

Consider a scenario wherein when you start your Windows Vista system, it fails to boot and hangs at a black screen. When you try to resolve the issue, you may encounter the following situations: When you try to boot the system from the Safe Mode, the same problem is repeated. When you try to start the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to restore the system, the WinRE stops responding. When you try to use the Windows Vista installation media to rectify the issue, the system stops responding.

Cause:

The root cause of this situation is that the file system has corrupted in the $Txf folder. Because of this, a deadlock has been created between the Transactional NTFS process and the Autocheck process, which is stopping the Boot process.

Resolution:

To resolve this erroneous situation, you should download and install the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 to resolve the issue. If that is not possible, then you should reinstall Windows Vista operating system. However, that would mean that all your data is lost and you will have to install all the applications again

In such cases, you should use a third-party NTFS data recovery software to resolve the issue. Such tools are read-only in nature that do not overwrite the original contents using fast yet sophisticated scanning algorithms.

NTFS Data Recovery is an NTFS partition recovery software that enables recovering lost, deleted, or formatted data from NTFS file systems. It is able to recover more than 185 different file types from various storage media such as hard disks, external HDDs, pen drives, iPods, CDs, DVD, etc. This NTFS file recovery tool is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, Server 2003, XP, and Server 2000. In addition, it is capable of updating the latest version definitions using the Live Update feature from the Internet.
