Access 2000 Database Recovery After file Refuses to Open

Have you ever encountered the agonizing situation of appearance of #Deleted in a few records of your Access 2000 database files? Or, are you unable to open a few objects of the database? Or worse, are you unable to open your database files? These things happen due to various environmental factors and damage the Access database files. In such situations, you can only draw respite from various access recovery strategies that can help you get your database back. However, if by chance they don't work, use updated and validated backups for performing access database recovery. If that fails, you still have option of using access repair software to get your database back.

Consider, when you open your Access 2000 database, the file refuses to open. It implies that your database is damaged and you will need to repair it as follows:

Use the Compact and Repair utility as per directions:

To begin with the repair task, close the database and make a copy of it. In the menubar, click on Tools, select Database Utilities, followed by Compact and Repair Database.

In the dialog box labeled Compact Database From, choose the file you want to compact, and choose Compact.

In the Compact Database Into dialog box, write the name of the file, and click Save. Your Access database is recovered.

Normally this takes care of the database file, and you can work without any further hassle.

However, if it fails, you receive a message stating the same, and implies that damage is too severe for the utility to correct it.

If this method fails, create a new database, and import objects (not using Import Wizard) from the damaged database one at a time. You'll need to create relations after that.

However, be wary of the fact that if you are using Compact and Repair utility, it will not repair reports, forms, macros, or modules, but only try to fix the damages done to the tables, queries, and indexes. Further, if you are Importing the objects, you'll not be able to do the same for forms, reports, macros, and modules. You'll need to import these things from the backup.

So, in case you have a backup, use it to re-create your Access 2000 database. But if you do not have a backup, or, the above methods do not work for you, don't worry. There is still another access database recovery way available.

Stellar Phoenix Access Recovery is a sure shot access recovery software e. With an interactive interface, a read-only nature, and ability to recover all the objects including tables, forms, reports, macros, and modules that can otherwise not be repaired. With support for all Access files created in MS Access 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002 (XP), and 2000, and compatibility with Windows 7, Vista, XP, and 2000, this Database Recovery tool is the answer to all Access database damage problems.
