Formatting did not erase all data from hard drive

There are times when we really need to sell our computer, and ensure that all the traces of confidential data are removed. For example, you are being transferred from your present work location, and you really cannot carry everything to your new location. Having transferred all your data on your laptop, you format the entire system. But do you think that formatting the computer can lead to hard drive wipe, and remove all traces of the system data. Think again! It is not true! Anybody can attach the hard drive to another functioning computer, and use recovery software to retrieve all your important data.

It is fairly simple for anybody to gain access to the files bearing your confidential data. Innumerable software are available on the Internet. All your hidden files, password protected files, encrypted data, everything will be available to the person who uses your computer. And with password recovery and decrypting techniques, it is fairly simple to get your data.

But don't worry, there are some file eraser software too that can remove all traces of your data and make it completely inaccessible. These data eraser software are so designed that they clean the entire system and the data in one go. With innumerable algorithms to perform the wipe operation, eraser software allow the user to choose the algorithm for wiping their hard disk drive.

Whether you want to remove deleted files or locked system files, or hidden files, a hard drive wipe tool can remove them all. In fact, the password protected and encrypted data can also be easily and conveniently wiped off from the system. No matter which software you opt for (since there is a plethora of eraser software), observe caution. Make sure the company is being sold by a reputed company. Otherwise, the software may also be a malware or virus that may instead of wiping, simply transfer all your bank account details and other confidential data to some unintended receiver. Also, check for a software that has a simple interface features a context-sensitive help manual.
