Error 2512 Post DBCC CHECKDB Failure

Are you confronting a 'Severity Level 16' error message while trying to repair your database using DBCC CHECKDB command? If yes, then you are among many database users who are encountering severe logical database corruption. Few factors responsible for high level MS SQL Server database corruption are improper server shutdown, virus infections, and application malfunction. Records saved in the database remain inaccessible in most situations of DBCC CHECKDB failure error message. To access the records and to surmount the error message, an easy alternative for the database user is to perform restoration from an updated backup. However, in case no database is available, you are left with only one option – repair the database. To systematically do so, you need to opt for a powerful, yet safe commercial MDF Database Repair utility.

To elaborate the above case, consider a practical scenario wherein your database table is severely corrupted and you use DBCC CHECKDB command to repair the table. However, while doing so, you encounter the below error message:

“Table error: Object ID O_ID, Index ID I_ID. Duplicate keys on page P_ID1 slot SLOT1 and page P_ID2 slot SLOT2.”

After the above error message appears, the database table remains corrupted and the data saved in it becomes inaccessible. In addition, the table continues to be corrupt even after using DBCC CHECKDB command repeatedly.

Cause:

Severe corruption of MS SQL Server database table due to logical or physical damage.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error message and to overcome table corruption, you will need to follow the below steps:

1.Physical corruption in database table can only be resolved by changing the damaged system component. 2.However, to repair table after logical damage, you will need to use DBCC CHECKDB with suitable repair clause. However, if the repair fails or there is loss of data after repair, then you will need to use a third-party MDF File Repair application.

Such MS SQL Repair utilities use secure repair mechanisms to repair any database object and to restore it at user-specified location. The MDF Database Recovery utility is easy to operate and understand.

SQL Recovery Software is a safe and quick MDF Repair utility that repairs corrupted database tables and other objects, in just a few mouse clicks. Supported by MS SQL Server 2008, 2005, and 2000, the non-destructive MS SQL repair software can be installed on Windows 7, Vista, 2008, XP, 2003, and 2000.
