Hides any kind of file or message in TEXT, WAV , BMP 24 bit and
BMP 256 colour files.There will be no change in file size of
the carrier medium except when text file is the carrier medium.
there will not be any perceptible distortion in the carrier
file after hiding. your file will seem exactly as the original,
so it's almost impossible to detect hidden data.your data is
encrypted with a password using des (for additional protection)
and hidden in the carrier medium.the data to be hidden must be
approximately 1/8th of carrier file size or less. no file size
restriction for text file carrier files.user friendly gui
provided.stegomagic runs on all microsoft windows versions.

This is a very good staganographic software and its main feature i found is that size of carrier file is not changing?(Except in Text file) and also there is no change in the appearence of image in the case of BMP and no noticable change in WAV & TXT files also

it was indeed a magic.i couldn't believe my eyes.it is first of its kind with a top class graphical user interface.no changes in the carrier file after hiding. my best wishes to those "stego magicians".

Software is ok. LSB hiding in .bmp (24bit) seemed random, didn't analyse 256 colour method.
Text files shouldn't be used as carriers, since tacking bits to the end of the file is easily noticable. Also question how des used. 12 unique character message and password resulted stegotext of :
Hex char # occurances
20 301
9 90
0D 6
0A 6
Nice GUI.. however 'verify password' should be next in tab order from 'enter password' box.
Better encryption should be used

It used DES which is long obselete. It should use something like 3DES, AES or Blowfish, etc.

Just tried to hide a one line message in a 4 words text file. Hid it OK, but could not unhide. The textbox for the output file name stayed inactive. Most horrendous UI that I have seen - instead of separating visually the hide/unhide sections, they are mixed together on one screen. To unhide, it still requires you to enter your PW twice, etc.
