MarkMark Member Posts: 24
Dear Sir,
I have a hardware related problem. I have a Compaq PC and runm Windows 98.
When I go to the option of restart with Command prompt only , I am not able to access my CD ROM drive.I have an exe which needs to be run from there. The CD is not bootable.
How do I get my CD ROM in this case.I do not have much hard disk space to copy the whole CD.
Please guide
Thanks
My CDROM is LITEON LTN-301

    Hey Mark
The problem you are having is that in DOS mode, CD ROM drivers are not loaded because DOS does not load config.sys
Config.sys are used by Windows to load all the drivers and crap.
    Goto this site:
    http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdir.htm#cdromdos
there is a method that you can load CD ROM drivers in DOS mode.
    Enjoy, I hope it works
    Cheers
